Each Esmio gel product should be cured for 60 seconds under our nail lamp for optimal results.
To preserve the quality of all Esmio gels and lamps, it's essential to store them away from exposure to natural sunlight. Avoid placing them in front of windows or in brightly lit rooms. Ideally, store them in a dark, well-ventilated area with a temperature not exceeding 26°C, such as a closet. Additionally, when painting your nails, refrain from doing so in rooms exposed to direct sunlight, as the UV rays can prematurely harden your gel polish.
Esmio Australia confirms that both the raw materials used and the finished products have not undergone any animal testing and are indeed cruelty-free.
What does 12-Free mean? It means that we are not using the 12 most harmful chemical ingredients commonly found in other gel polish lines.
Esmio gel polish does not contain:
Formaldehyde - Formaldehyde is primarily used in gel polish as a hardening agent. It is a known carcinogen and can lead to skin irritation, allergic responses, and has been associated with the development of nasal and lung cancers.
Toluene - That familiar, nostalgic yet potent scent emanating from certain nail polishes is attributed to Toluene. This compound plays a crucial role in ensuring the even distribution of color pigments, resulting in a flawless finish upon application. However, Toluene's exposure has been associated with adverse effects on the nervous system, including headaches, nausea, and eye irritation. Most significantly, it has been linked to the risk of birth defects.
Dibutyl Phthalate (DBT) - DBP functions as both a plasticizer and solvent in nail polish formulations, enhancing flexibility and reducing the likelihood of chipping. However, absorption of this chemical through the skin has been associated with reproductive problems, birth defects, and fertility issues.
Camphor - Synthetic camphor is used to achieve a highly glossy appearance, however prolonged exposure may result in symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, and headaches.
Formaldehyde Resin - Formaldehyde Resin serves as a nail hardening agent. However, it may provoke skin irritation and pose toxicity risks to the immune system.
Xylene - Xylene is utilized to thin nail polish, preventing it from becoming excessively clumpy. It is commonly found in the production of cement and gasoline. Due to its potent fumes, excessive exposure or skin absorption can potentially harm the renal system, liver, and kidneys.
Parabens - Parabens are used widely in the cosmetic industry as a preservative. Due to the estrogen mimicking effects it has been linked to hormonal abnormalities.
Fragrances - Fragrances are incorporated into polish to impart specific scents. Yet, they typically consist of proprietary blends of various components, which may induce skin irritations like redness, itching, hives, and exacerbate eczema.
Phthalates - Phthalates are employed to impart flexibility to products, allowing them to bend in a desired manner. However, these chemicals have been associated with certain types of cancer.
Ethyl Tosylamide - Ethyl Tosylamide serves as a chemical in nail polish, functioning as both a plasticizer and film-forming agent. Its role is to improve the polish's flexibility and durability, thereby contributing to extended manicure longevity.
Triphenyl Phosphate (TPHP) - Triphenyl Phosphate is commonly present in nail polish as both a plasticizer and flame retardant. While it can increase the flexibility of nail polish, concerns regarding its potential side effects have been raised due to health implications.
Hema – Hema is a commonly used ingredient in the nail polish industry and serves to provide adhesion and durability. Prolonged exposure to uncured HEMA products is linked to causing irritation and allergic reactions.
We recommend turning the bottle upside down and rolling it between your hands before every use. This helps to mix, warm, and thin out the polish for a smooth application. Avoid shaking the bottle as this may introduce air bubbles.
Simply wipe the top of your cured One Step Gel with some Isopropyl Alcohol and then apply your Top Coat. Dulling the shine of the One Step Gel helps the Top Coat to adhere!
We recommend using our cuticle softener to gently soften your cuticles, followed by pushing them back using either our Pro Cuticle Pusher or Glass Cuticle Pusher. For trimming, our Pro Cuticle Clippers are ideal. Remember to avoid painting over your cuticles, as this can lead to lifting of your manicure as your nails grow. Additionally, refrain from moisturizing your cuticles before your manicure, as it can leave an oily residue that may affect the longevity of your manicure. Instead, apply our Esmio Cuticle Oil at the end of your manicure to promote circulation around the nails, encourage growth, and protect the health of your nails.
We suggest lightly buffing your nails with out Soft Buffer before applying any Esmio gel products to eliminate any natural oils that may have accumulated. Follow this with our dehydrator to thoroughly remove any remaining natural oils and ensure optimal adhesion of the gel products.
If you find that your nails still have a sticky surface after applying the final color coat and/or top coat, it's possible that you've applied the polish too thickly. Place your hand under our Esmio nail lamp for an additional 60 seconds and remember to apply thinner coats in the future. It's important to note that thicker coats can lead to premature chipping.
Our coloured gels and top coat are designed to be completely no-wipe. We understand the value of convenience, so we've eliminated any unnecessary steps from your nail routine. Each coat leaves behind a shiny, tack-free surface, making your nail application process effortless.
For some of our lighter colors, you may notice they are slightly more transparent. We recommend adding more coats until you are satisfied with the results. There's no limit to the number of coats you can apply, but it's important to ensure that each coat remains thin to achieve longer-lasting results.
If you notice bubbling between coats, it's likely that you're applying your coats too thickly, causing the gel not to cure completely. Simply apply thinner coats and cure for 60 seconds to ensure thorough curing and prevent bubbling.
The sensation of heat during the curing process, known as an exothermic reaction, is common in the nail industry. This heat spike occurs when chemical bonds form, releasing more energy than necessary to cure the gel. To mitigate this sensation, there are two solutions to consider. Firstly, avoid over-buffing your natural nails, as a thinner nail bed can increase sensitivity, leading to a deeper heat sensation. Secondly, apply thin coats of gel polish, as fewer molecules reacting and releasing heat can help reduce the sensation. If these solutions do not alleviate the discomfort, you can temporarily pull your hand away from the lamp and wait a few seconds to slow the curing process before reinserting your hand. It's important to note that while this sensation may be uncomfortable, it is not damaging to your nails.
Our Esmio gel range has undergone rigorous quality testing with our specific lamp. As a result, we cannot guarantee the same results or curing times when using any other lamp.
Gojelle press on nails can last up to three weeks with proper application and care using the Nail Glue OR 7 days using the Adhesive tabs.
