Gel Nail Polish Remover

There's a sea of incorrect information floating around about 'Magic' Gel Nail Polish removers, so let's dive into the truth.

Our team has poured significant effort into developing our One Step Gel Remover formula to ensure it's not only the fastest method for gel removal but also the safest. Every product and ingredient we use complies with Australian standards, and a full list of ingredients for each of our products is readily available under the 'ingredient tab' on each product's page.

Let's clear up the FACTS:

From a chemical perspective, both Acetone and our One Step Gel Remover act by breaking down the gel 'polymers' to lift off gel polish. Typically, Acetone is applied to a cotton pad, which is then wrapped around the fingertip and nail, often secured with a piece of foil. However, unlike Acetone, which requires substantial skin contact, our Esmio One Step Gel Remover is applied directly onto your buffed Esmio Gel and gently removed after 5 minutes, avoiding any contact with the skin during this process.

One frequently asked question about our One Step Gel Remover is whether it's akin to Paint Stripper/Thinner/Remover?

Chemically, both Acetone AND our One Step Gel Remover dissolve gel 'polymers'. Although originating from vastly different sectors, the base chemistry behind nail products and regular paints is quite similar, with Polymers being a common ingredient in both.

Interestingly, Acetone is also a well-known paint remover/thinner/stripper, and a simple online search will yield plenty of information on this topic. Given the prolonged skin exposure to Acetone (up to 20 minutes), we recommend educating yourself about how your body absorbs it.

To address the question: technically, yes, our One Step Gel Remover might strip paint. But, would it be effective as a paint remover? Unlikely.

The formulation of our One Step Gel Remover includes ingredients that are far less aggressive than those found in typical paint removers/thinners/strippers. The key active ingredient in our remover is Sodium Hydroxide, which is widely used in numerous skincare, cosmetics, and cleaning products.

Will Esmio One Step Gel Remover harm my nail bed or skin?

Absolutely not. Our One Step Gel Remover is designed for use exclusively on your buffed Esmio Gel, followed by removal with our Scraper Tool, eliminating any need for nail bed or skin contact, and thereby preventing any potential damage.

NOTE: It's crucial to use the Scraper tool gently. Aggressive scraping or pulling at the gel can damage your nails. For any tough spots of gel, we advise reapplying the remover to these areas.

Is Esmio One Step Gel Remover comparable to other 'magic' gel removers?

Definitely not. Our One Step Gel Remover is uniquely formulated with specific, safe ingredients for removing our One Step Gel Colour range. It's fully approved in Australia, and all its ingredients are listed with the AICIS.

Other removers likely contain different ingredients. To ensure you're choosing a safe Gel Remover, we recommend checking each ingredient against the AICIS Industry Chemicals Inventory for Australian approval.

What if I have an allergy or sensitivity?

For those with allergies or sensitivities, consulting with a chemical expert is advisable to pinpoint the exact ingredients or chemicals causing reactions.

Overall, Esmio One Step Gel Remover is a safe and easy removal solution that is inexpensive and requires minimal equipment.
